What and why

Being Intentional
Being in Communion

The HUB CITY HERF is a weekend set aside for men to sit around the table, firepit, or lounge and enjoy cigars, each other's company, and hearing what the Lord has for our lives.

Over the course of three days we will have five sessions to discuss and be together, smoke a cigar, and learn from each other and the Lord.

Scripture

We ask everyone who attends to read a short section of Scripture, and we start with Scripture for two reasons: • We believe there is a God and that His wisdom and truth can be found in the Bible. •The Bible is free, always accessible, and a great foundation for honest conversation.

Contribution

Our undivided attention is arguably one of the greatest commodities of our age. To give our attention to another is a gift. It’s respectful. It’s kind. We learn when we listen. We want to hear from God and each other - therefore listening is key.

Listening

Because we believe any man can learn from any man - we encourage everyone to speak up when they have something to say. Whether it’s a question, observation, insight, or encouragement - what you have cookin’ in your head might be just the thing someone else needs to hear. Everyone who attends plays a part in making sure what needs to be said - gets said.

Prayer

We believe in the power of prayer. Prayer strengthens the community. It invites God into our circumstances. It’s where we can be honest about our concerns and our joys and invite others to join with us in them. Prayer is a place of strength. If there’s something specific we can pray about before we leave for the night - we close our time together by lifting it up in prayer.
